It’s been five years since my mom died, and I’m finally realizing that grief is a lifelong process. Today, I’m finally ready to talk about the process and what life after losing her means.
In college, I was given a memoir assignment. I recently lost my mom and wasn’t sure I was ready to write about her. Ultimately, I chose to, and it was a cathartic experience and I’m glad I did it. I would like to share that story with you now.
Today I’m celebrating by making Irish soda bread and corned beef with cabbage, potatoes, carrots, and onions (I’m trying out the Instant Pot for this year’s Irish feast!), and an apple spice cake with whisky sauce for dessert. Of course, I’m also celebrating by wearing a little bit of green.
Before I start making a mess of my kitchen and outfit, I wanted to share my St. Patrick’s Day look.
My nightly routine is multi-stepped but quick. After a long day, the last thing I want to do is spend forever preparing for bed. This routine takes me about 5 minutes, and the products are affordable and effective.
Some people are fall people, some are summer, but my favorite season is baseball season, and I’ am SO glad that we are so close to the start of another 162 games (at least).
A tradition started a few years ago that I now look forward to every year: Cactus League Spring Training. This is a trip I look forward to every year, and today I’m sharing some tips for those of you who might be considering or planning a trip.
Last week I posted my February Favorites, and it included a picture of me wearing one of my absolute favorite pair of boots. I didn’t link them but I got a handful of messages and comments about them on Instagram, so I wanted to do so now. I’ve also rounded up some other potential runners-up for my boots. You can shop them here!
This recipe has all that is good in the world inside of it: dark chocolate chunks, walnuts, and homemade salted caramel. It’s gooey. It’s messy. It’s sweet. It’s salty. It’s crunchy. It’s crackly-topped. It’s MORE than you could ever ask for in one pan.
By now I’m sure you all know by know that I’m addicted to online shopping, so I’ve decided to start doing a monthly round up of some of my favorite items, complete with links.
When my bananas went mushy, I wanted to do something other than the banana bread or banana chip muffins that I usually make. If you saw my Butterbeer Birthday Cake post, then you probably know that I recently learned how to make salted caramel sauce, and since then, I’ve been putting it on E V E R Y T H I N G, including this bread. For good measure, I also threw in some chopped walnuts.
I get a lot of compliments on my shoes, and no one can ever believe that I get most of them on Amazon! Not all of my Amazon shoe purchases have been winners, but I’ve rounded up my favorite Amazon boots under $35 (complete with links).
