Shower Products for Sensitive Skin

I’ve always had super finicky skin, so I have to be mindful of the products I use. Luckily for sensitive skin sufferers like me, I had a realization in the shower (as one does) a few mornings ago: I finally have a really great set of products that work with my sensitive skin! And what’s even better is that all items are available at Target and/or Amazon, which means they are affordable! The most expensive product on this list is only $12!

I’ve always had super finicky skin, so I have to be mindful of the products I use. I have to check labels to avoid itching and flaking, and I’m forever avoiding burns of both the sun and razor variety, and. To top it all off, I have combination skin.

That’s a pretty tall order.

Luckily for sensitive skin sufferers like me, I had a realization in the shower (as one does) a few mornings ago: I finally have a really great collection of products on my shower shelf that work with and for my sensitive skin! What’s even better is that all items are available at Target and/or Amazon, which means they are affordable (links included)! The most expensive product on this list is only $12!

Premium Nature Coconut Milk Scrub for Body and Face ($12)

I was gifted this product last year for Christmas, and I was happily surprised when, as the little tub was nearing its end, I discovered this scrub for an extremely reasonable price on Amazon. This is my go-to scrub when I need a little extra exfoliation in the winter, and I always use it when I see a breakout brewing. The sea salt helps purify my skin and dry out the acne while the coconut milk leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized.

Cremo Shave Cream ($8)

I love Cremo Shave Cream products. This thick formula comes in a variety of scents, and I’ve used and loved almost all of them. My favorites are the Skin Clearing and the Coconut Mango (both are available at Target and Amazon, among other retailers). These products provide a silky smooth shave, and one tube seems to last forever! Even my boyfriend uses this stuff now, and because it’s only about $6 per tube, I don’t mind sharing.

Schick Hydro Silk Sensitive Women’s Razor ($9)

These razors have been a lifesaver! My skin is overly sensitive to everything, including friction. I have spent so much money looking for the right razor – I even used men’s multi-blade razors for a while – but still, the painful, itchy, unsightly bumps continued. Finally, Schick produced a razor that rescued my sad skin. This razor isn’t new, but since I discovered it about two years ago, I have not strayed. Maybe it’s the razor, maybe it’s the razor and Cremo combination, but my days of razor burn are a thing of my past.

Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash ($9)

I’ve tried so many face washes, but I always come back to this one. Neutrogena is a beauty-aisle staple for a reason. This cleanser is super gentle and can be used day and night. It doesn’t strip my skin of oil, and it leaves it feeling refreshed and cleansed. Even if you don’t have acne-prone skin, I highly recommend this face wash – I firmly believe that it is a preventative measure that will help with existing breakouts and work to keep acne away.

Raw Sugar Body Wash in Vanilla Bean + Sugar ($7)

I accidentally stumbled across this product as I was browsing the body soap aisle at Target. I had never seen Raw Sugar products before, and had Target not been out of my usual fragrance-free body soap, it would probably still be unknown to me. Because of my sensitive skin, I have to be careful not to buy products with tons of chemicals and fragrances. When I started reading the bottle, I learned that Raw Sugar’s products are made locally in Southern California, they are plant-based, dye and paraben-free , cruelty-free, and they donate to people in need (I am officially in love with this brand at this point). I usually have to use fragrance-free soaps, but because these soaps are plant-based and  free of other fragrances and chemicals, I get to indulge! The scents are so delicious that I had a hard time choosing, but ultimately ended up selecting Vanilla Bean + Sugar. Not only does it smell great, but my skin feels so soft and smooth after each shower. They make an incredible product and $7 for 25oz is a steal! I’m really looking forward to trying more of them next time I start wandering around Target (so any day now).

If you have sensitive skin like I do and have some products you swear by, I’d love to know! I plan to share more of my favorite beauty products with you all, so let me know if there is anything in particular you’re curious about so that I can add it to me list. Drop me a comment below!
