Shop Small Saturday Short List

Tomorrow is Shop Small Saturday, and I have some very special shops and businesses that you can support this Saturday and every day. These businesses are privately owned labors of love, owned by amazing and talented people who love what they do. I’m sure they would love a little extra support this holiday season, and to sweeten the deal, many of them are offering discount codes and amazing deals right now!

I know many people, myself included, were glued to their phones and laptops today, eyeing Black Friday deals and filling up our virtual (or actual, if you were brave enough to leave the comfort of your sofa) shopping carts with bargain gifts for friends, family, and let’s be honest, ourselves.

You might have rushed to your nearest big name chain to get a jump start on your holiday shopping, but tomorrow is another day of deals for those who are willing to forgo the big name brands and instead find some often overlooked gems — the lovingly and uniquely made goods and services of small businesses.

1. Lucky Rabbit Supply Co.

Not only are the owners of this business a super sweet and big-hearted couple obsessed with all things Disney, but Mike and Gill have amazing designs. If I could, I’d buy every single imaginative shirt and adorable pin in their shop. They just announced a few new designs, including Mary Poppins and Peter Pan shirts, and a new Imagination shirt and sweatshirt that I’m already obsessed with and preordered. If you or someone on your holiday gift list are Disney-obsessed, THIS is where you want to shop.

In addition to a ton of sale items, they’re also offering free shipping on orders over $60 (FREESHIP) and are currently running a Disney Annual Pass giveaway from now until Christmas!

2. Gypsy Vine Co.

General rule of thumb: candles make great gifts for anyone, for any occasion.

Better rule of thumb: Gypsy Vine candles make the best gifts for anyone, for any occasion.

I genuinely love these candles. Sarah is a sweetheart who knows how to invent heavenly new aromas that fill your home and warm your heart. Her hand-poured candles are eco friendly and come in a variety of scents (I’m currently obsessed with La Sirena and Bramble + Bloom),

sizes, and container styles. I’m always ecstatic to receive a new order from Gypsy Vine, and I’m sure the candle or home decor lover on your gift list will adore these products as well.

3. Blue Button Boho

Everyone knows that Santa Cruz is home to eclectics and artists alike, and Blue Button Boho is no exception to this rule. Sarah’s jewelry is fun and whimsical and elegant at the same time. Pieces range from crystal and druzy adorned necklaces and cuffs to rosebud studs and turquoise and brass necklaces. Each piece is carefully and beautifully handmade, and from now until Cyber Monday, Blue Button Boho is offering 40% off all purchases (BBB40)! This is a steal! I just did my holiday shopping here and snagged some beautiful and fun pieces that I can’t wait to give some of the ladies on my list!

There are many more small business I would love to recommend (and I will continue to do so!), but for this Shop Small Saturday, I wanted to share some shops that I am supporting myself. Whether or not you shop at any of these amazing businesses, please remember to support your local small businesses this holiday season and every day.

Happy shopping and happier holidays!
